PE kit expectations

14 January 2025 (by Andrew Rudge (arudge))

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope this communication finds you well. As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a positive and consistent learning environment, we would like to kindly remind all parents and carers about the expectations for our school PE kit.

To ensure that all children are properly equipped for their physical education lessons, please ensure that your child wears the following PE kit:

PLEASE NOTE – ALL PE KIT SHOULD BE PLAIN AND UNBRANDED

Black or navy shorts – These can be football-style or cycling-style shorts. Please note: Skorts are not permitted.

White T-shirt or polo shirt.

Trainers – Suitable for outdoor PE activities on a range of surfaces such as grass, tarmac, or playground equipment. Running shoes or sports-specific trainers are ideal.

Cold weather clothing – In colder months, black or navy jogging bottoms and/or a sweatshirt may be worn.

It is essential that children come to school wearing their PE kit on the days they have PE lessons, as this helps them fully engage in activities and ensures the smooth running of our physical education curriculum.

Unacceptable Kit Details

If your child is found to be wearing PE kit that does not meet the school’s guidelines, a member of staff will note the issue and send a letter home with the specific reason. For example, this may include wearing branded items, incorrect clothing such as skorts, or the use of leggings instead of jogging bottoms. We will inform you if your child’s PE kit does not comply with the requirements and kindly ask that you ensure the appropriate kit is provided.

We appreciate your support in following these guidelines to maintain a uniform standard for all our pupils. If you have any questions or concerns about the PE kit expectations, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Rudge
